Recently, we have received a request from our customer for the transportation of 18 boxes of rotors for drilling equipment from Perm to the UAE. For the convenience of transportation, the components of the drilling rig engines were packed in wooden boxes of 6-7 m lengths. In order to optimize time and financial costs, it was decided to carry out transportation in a tent semi-trailer through Azerbaijan, then to Iran and to the UAE by sea.
An important nuance was that we needed to establish communication between the contractor who was responsible for transport (he was from Turkey) and the agent who was responsible for reloading at the Iranian port and upcoming freight. So we had an excellent international team!
Initially, the client planned to ship the cargo in two containers, since there were two recipients of the cargo. The customer suggested that there should be a separate bill of lading and a separate container for each cargo. After consulting with our Iranian agent, we informed the customer that it is possible to issue two bills of lading and when sending the entire batch in one container. The cargo owner agreed with our arguments and we managed to save several thousand dollars on delivery to the customer.
In order to make the loading process as comfortable as possible, we provided a tent truck with vertical and side loading. The cargo journey by truck began from the factory of the cargo owner in Perm (Russia) through the south of Russia and Azerbaijan to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. The path through Iran was chosen because the customer wanted to try out these directions for further deliveries. Upon arrival at the port, the shipment was reloaded into a 40-foot container, and traveled by sea to the port of Jebel Ali in the UAE. In addition to direct delivery, we have carried out cargo insurance and the issuance of an export declaration for goods.
Overall, the cargo covered about 5,150 km by land and sea in just 28 days, which is quite fast, considering transportation by two modes of transport and reloading on foreign territory, and was successfully delivered to the port of Jebel Ali.
